passichem 900 is chromium based formulation for post phosphating thermal dip to enhance corrosion resistance. the bath is called passivation bath.
micropores present in phosphated crystaline coatings are sealed by passivation. it passivates the phosphated substrates and eliminates the attack of oxides and chlorides and promotes the paint adhesion character of the phosphate coating.
object metals after phosphating are given hot/cold dm water rinse. now the final dip is in the passivation bath of passichem 900. dip time is 30 seconds. temp. of the bath is 55 to 65 degree.
the object metal load should be forced dried immediately afterwards and should be fed for final operation of sealing with paint.
fill the tank with dm water upto operating level. add passichem 900 in the ratio 50 to 100 ml per 100 lit of bath capacity. maintain temp. from 55 to 65 degree. ph of the bath should be maintained between 4 to 6. the bath should be discarded and freshly made two to three times in a week.
